I'm so in love with the color of thistle. Oh and the orange bee you saw the other day on my blog is realy orange (at least the are here in Holland, never thought of the fact that there color might be different...? How does a bee look at your place?)

That's so strange! They're yellow here in the U.S., or at least in the midwest, as far as I know. I posted pix of one on here recently: http://vivid-blog.blogspot.com/2009/06/bee-under-glass.html

That's really interesting...I wonder why they evolved with different colors?

weird—i just took some shots of these yesterday.

i was showing brac, and he said they look like a flower, not a weed. then i was second-guessing myself. are they weeds?

either way, i love them, and i am going to post them with a quote about weeds.

your shot is lovely. yes, they are so delicate. i love the color, too.

Well, people consider them weeds when they're growing in their lawns. They're spiky, awkward looking plants. But they are a prairie/plains plant, and finches and other birds love their seeds, not to mention they're pretty (as you said). So to me they are far from weeds. They're just a bit of prairie in your yard, if you're lucky enough to find them.

I think they're pretty too, as long as you don't go walking around barefoot!

the pink against the powder blue perfects the delicacy.

Hi Chris,
this is an amazing shot.
I love the care free soft palette.
The two little blossom are so shy, reavealing their love to each other. I just too imaginative:)
